Welcome to St. Mary’s High School, the Home of the Saints! St. Mary’s is a unique, Catholic, college- preparatory parish high school with a rich history and a bright future, located in the heart of downtown Annapolis on the banks of Spa Creek. Built on a solid foundation that began with the Redemptorists and was guided by the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we aspire to nurture our students to be servant leaders in the twenty-first century.

Welcome to St. Mary’s athletics and our boys and girls lacrosse programs! At St. Mary’s our student-athletes, coaches and staff strive for excellence in everything they do. Success at St. Mary’s requires the highest level of commitment and work ethic not only on the field but in the classroom and in the community. Our goals are to develop strong athletes, students, and leaders.

We were blessed in the fall of 2017 with the opening of the St. Mary’s TeamandMinistryHouse located adjacent to Pascal Field, our practice and game field. Located there are a state of the art training room and weight room, boys and girls locker rooms, a coaches and officials locker area as well as team meeting space and a balcony overlooking the field. This facility demonstrates St. Mary’s true commitment to excellence. It certainly is an exciting time to be a Saint! Our lacrosse programs are led by St. Mary’s alumni and former Division One lacrosse players, Mindy Jones and Victor Lilly. Coach Jones played at the University of Maryland and is now in her fifth year leading our girls program. Coach Lilly played at Towson University and is in his sixth year at the helm of our boys program. Both programs compete in the highly competitive IAAM and MIAA A Conference, arguably the best lacrosse conferences in the country. We look forward to seeing you and supporting our teams this season! Go Saints!

During the special moments of high school, our young men and women take risks and try new experiences to learn more about the gifts and talents God provided each one of them. It is St. Mary’s mission to serve our students along this journey of academic, social, physical, and spiritual formation. Through our dedication to developing the entire child; mind, body, and spirit, we ensure our students live the best academic experience possible, while also having opportunities to participate in athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. Demonstrating our commitment to faith, we have an active CampusMinistry that guides our community to recognize Christ in others and to include God in our lives, no matter our walk of faith. The experienced, committed, and talented faculty and staff of St. Mary’s High School take pride in embracing every student as an individual and guiding each student to reach the fullness of his or her potential as individuals in God’s image. The athletic department, under the leadership of Allison Fondale, provides our students with various opportunities to learn, play, and grow through interscholastic competition. The Saints rise to the challenge to lead by example on and off the field, showing their dedication, courage, and integrity in all that they do. Thank you for supporting our students throughout this season and the remainder of this school year. Go Saints!

In addition to her accomplishments on the lacrosse field, Somer’s dedication to athletics has earned her the distinction of being an Iron Saint, having played a sport for every season of her high school career, including field hockey and swimming for the Saints. She served as a captain of the girls’ swim team this past season. She has demonstrated her dedication to her school and local community through her participation in the Interact Club, SAIL Club, and the Environmental Studies program. She has also led Kairos and supported

campus ministry through leading retreats for underclassman. Somer volunteers for the Catholic Heart Work camp, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Light House Shelter, and Sunrise SUP. Somer’s achievements have earned her an academic and athletic scholarship to Flagler College, where she will play lacrosse next year. Somer is a hard working attacker with a strong finish. She works well around the crease, creating opportunities for her teammates on the offensive end. Next year, Somer will play at Flagler College. Good luck, Somer! - St. Mary’s Girls Lacrosse
