Name: Jennifer Cortez Title: Grants and Contracts Manager

Prior to CHS, my experience with grants and contracts began in the education field. I worked with pre- and post-award grant administration for 15 years in higher education as the Assistant Director of Sponsored Programs at Stetson University, a Budget Analyst at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Fiscal Analyst at Arkansas State University. What I Can Do for Our Members: I can help with grant or contract-related questions and answer ques tions related to the costs associated with them. I also enjoy gardening, reading, and travel. Motto to Live By: If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it.

Time at APHSA: Recently celebrated one year! Priorities at APHSA: As the Grants and Contracts Manager, I review and draft sub-awards and contracts, rec oncile and review monthly expenses with Project Directors, and ensure compliance. Life Before APHSA: Before joining APHSA, I worked as a Grants and Contracts Administrator for two years at Comprehensive Health Services, (CHS). While there, I gained experience with the Office of Refugee Resettlement and the Administration for Children and Families, managing cooperative agreements for the reunification of unaccom panied minors. In this role, I supported proposal and budget submissions, post-award financial administration, and the development of compliance and grant policies and procedures.
