Mindi Imes Principal

Allison Fondale Director of Athletics

Welcome to St. Mary’s High School, the Home of the Saints! St. Mary’s is a unique, Catholic, college- preparatory parish high school with a rich history and a bright future, located in the heart of downtown Annapolis on the banks of Spa Creek. Built on a solid foundation that began with the Redemptorists and was guided by the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we aspire to nurture our students to be servant leaders in the twenty-first century.

Welcome to St. Mary’s athletics and our football program! At St. Mary’s our student-athletes, coaches and staff strive for excellence in everything they do. Success at St. Mary’s requires the highest level of commitment and work ethic not only on the field but in the classroom and in the community. Our goals are to develop strong athletes, students and leaders.

We were blessed in October of 2017 with the opening of the St. Mary’s Team and Ministry House located adjacent to Pascal Field, our practice and game field. Located here are state of the art training room and weight room, boys and girls locker rooms , a coaches and officials locker area as well as team meeting space and a balcony overlooking the field. This facility demonstrates St. Mary’s true commitment to excellence. Our football program is led by sixth year Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Director, Jason Budroni. Coach Budroni is now in his ninth year coaching football at St. Mary’s and has brought a tremendous knowledge of the game having played and won National Championships at the University of Miami. The team is coming off a very successful 2020 season and have now played in the MIAA Conference Championship game for three consecutive years. The 2020 team is led by 18 Seniors (including managers). Thank you for supporting our team during the 2020 football season. Go Saints!

During the special moments of high school, our young men and women take risks and try new experiences to learn more about the gifts and talents God provided each one of them. It is St. Mary’s mission to serve our students along this journey of academic, social, physical, and spiritual formation. Through our dedication to developing the entire child; mind, body, and spirit, we ensure our students live the best academic experience possible, while also having opportunities to participate in athletics, Clubs, and other extracurricular activities. Demonstrating our commitment to faith, we have an active CampusMinistry that guides our community to recognize Christ in others and to include God in our lives, no matter our walk of faith. The experienced, committed, and talented faculty and staff of St. Mary’s High School take pride in embracing every student as an individual and guiding each student to reach the fullness of his or her potential as individuals in God’s image. The athletic department, under the leadership of Allison Fondale, provides our students with various opportunities to learn, play, and grow through interscholastic competition. The Saints rise to the challenge to lead by example on and off the field, showing their dedication, courage, and integrity in all that they do. Thank you for supporting our students throughout this season and the remainder of this school year. Go Saints!

Volunteers at Special Olympics, Kelly Thompson Shiley 5K run and is a kitchen lead for AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center). Enjoys fishing, swimming, and playing basketball. Johns Hopkins lacrosse commit.

“Nick gives us a big target to throw the ball to at wide receiver. Plus, he has the speed to run away frommost defenders which makes him a match up nightmare for defenses. Nick has always been a hard worker but with this being his senior season, he has noticeably turned it up a notch. He has grown into a leader and is the type of player that makes the other kids around him better. We are expecting big things from Nick this season.” – Coach Budroni

Good Luck Nick! Stay hungry. Stay humble.

Enjoys golf and fishing. “I have been extremely impressed by Jack’s development. He has done things the old fashion way, he worked hard and earned his way onto the field. All our coaches have commented on his focus and dedication. He is a great example to the younger players of what hard work can accomplish.” – Coach Budroni

Enjoys hanging out with family and friends and listening to music. “Tommie has been a varsity starter since he showed up as a freshman. His work ethic and athletic ability are two major reasons for our success as a defense over the last 3 years. Tommie is a very physical

player, and he has the ability to lock wide receivers down. Tommie is not a ‘RAH RAH” type of guy. He is a little more reserved and leads by example by letting his pads do the talking. Tommie has issued some punishing hits over the years and those collisions have set the tone for our defense.” – Coach Budroni Tommie, We are so proud of you. He had to wait his turn before he became our starting running back but once he got his shot, Ki’Sean did not disappoint. Through hard work and dedication, Ki’Sean has developed into one of the best running backs in our conference. I cannot stress enough how proud I am of this senior class. They have had to deal with unprecedented setbacks and circumstances that no other class has ever had to face and although it has been tough, they have never let that get them down. They could have felt sorry for themselves, complained and whined about things but they did not. Instead they have continued to get back up, keep their focus, and push forward. That is what St. Mary’s football is all about. They are a great bunch of young men who have been great teammates to each other. I have thoroughly enjoyed being their coach and I could not ask for better representatives of our school and football program. We have been through a lot together and I am going to miss themwhen our time together ends. 2 0 2 0 SENIORS
