ST. MARY’S
BOYS LACROSSE
The 2023 lacrosse season marks the 73rd year our program has played lacrosse at St. Mary’s High School. Lacrosse has bee a sport at St. Mary’s since 1950 and it has developed many fine lacrosse players. The larger achievement is being part of developing great young men at the conclusion of their education at St. Mary’s High School. The goal for St. Mary’s Lacrosse is to develop each player to the players potential. As players reach their potential, team goals can than be met. Those goals are to compete in all games and winasmany games as possible. Makingour leagueplayoffs is the standard and striving for a MIAA “A” Conference Championship is the pinnacle for our program. In the 2023 season we will field 2 teams. The 2023 Varsity team coached by me, Victor Lilly ’87. The JV team will be coached by Bob Bohanan. This is Coach Bohannan’s final spring with the Saints. We wish him the best in his coaching retirement and thank him for his may years of service to our students at St. Mary’s High School. Allison Fondale, our Athletic Director continues to lead our department. She has provided opportunities for the program to be creative and compete at the highest level in the country for lacrosse.
Mrs. Imes, Principal, leads our student body in the classroom and in multiple co-curricular activities. The students leaving St. Mary’s each spring are extremely thankful for her positive leadership and ability to let each student grow through education and participation of school activities. President Andy Moore is tasked with taking care of current needs of students, planning for future Saints, and respecting the long tradition of St. Mary’s. The future for St. Mary’s is going in a great direction as we move forward. Father Pat Woods, Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish, leader of The Redemptorists Priests is a huge supporter of all athletic teams at St. Mary’s. Father Woods has a true connection to our students; this connection is felt all over our campuses. As we embark on St. Mary’s Lacrosse season for 2023, I know the program has worked hard to compete at a high level and now we get to compete to see how good we can be in 2023. Let’s Go Saints! Coach Lilly
Dr. Andrew Moore | St. Mary’s Schools President Dr. Andrew Moore began his role as the President of St. Mary’s Schools on January 31, 2022. Prior to joining St. Mary’s, Dr. Moore was an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) in Baltimore, Maryland where he taught and advised doctoral students while serving as the Coordinator of NDMU’s pioneering graduate programs in gifted and talented education. In recent years, he returned to serve as a consultant, adviser, and instructor in that program. In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Moore has a notable record in high school athletics as a baseball and soccer coach for twenty years at Calvert Hall. Fr. Patrick Woods, C.Ss.R. | St. Mary’s Pastor Father Patrick Woods is a native of Brooklyn, New York, raised in the parish of the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. After making his first vows as a Redemptorist in 1968, Father Woods attended St. Alphonsus College in Suffield, Connecticut, majoring in philosophy, and received his final four years of seminary training at Mount Saint Alphonsus Seminary in Esopus, New York where he received a Master of Divinity and a Master of Religious Education. Father Woods was ordained as a priest in June 1975 and then, after earning a master’s degree in English at FordhamUniversity, taught for ten years at the same high school seminary he had attended near Erie, Pennsylvania. During his time teaching, Father Woods also earned a Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling from Gannon University. Father Woods previously served as the Director of Formation at Holy Redeemer College in Washington, D.C. and was elected Provincial Vicar of the Baltimore Province, a position he held for twelve years, before serving as Provincial Superior for six years. Father Woods served as pastor at St. Martin of Tours in Bethpage, Long Island for eight years before coming to St. Mary’s. He is finishing his fourth year at St. Mary’s. Mindi Imes | Principal Welcome to St. Mary’s High School, the Home of the Saints! St. Mary’s is a unique, Catholic, college-preparatory parish high school with a rich history and a bright future, located in the heart of downtown Annapolis on the banks of Spa Creek. Built on a solid foundation that began with the Redemptorists and was guided by the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we aspire to nurture our students to be servant leaders in the twenty-first century. During the special moments of high school, our young men and women take risks and try new experiences to learn more about the gifts and talents God provided each one of them. It is St. Mary’s mission to serve our students along this journey of academic, social, physical, and spiritual formation. Through our dedication to developing the entire child; mind, body, and spirit, we ensure our students live the best academic experience possible, while also having opportunities to participate in athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities.
Demonstrating our commitment to faith, we have an active Campus Ministry that guides our community to recognize Christ in others and to include God in our lives, no matter our walk of faith. The experienced, committed, and talented faculty and staff of St. Mary’s High School take pride in embracing every student as an individual and guiding each student to reach the fullness of his or her potential as individuals in God’s image. The athletic department, under the leadership of Allison Fondale, provides our students with various opportunities to learn, play, and grow through interscholastic competition. The Saints rise to the challenge to lead by example on and off the field, showing their dedication, courage, and integrity in all that they do. Thank you for supporting our students throughout this season and the remainder of this school year. Go Saints!
Allison Fondale | Director of Athletics Welcome to St. Mary’s athletics and our boys and girls lacrosse programs! At St. Mary’s our student-athletes, coaches and staff strive for excellence in everything they do. Success at St. Mary’s requires the highest level of commitment and work ethic not only on the field but in the classroom and in the community. Our goals are to develop strong athletes, students, and leaders. We were blessed in the fall of 2017 with the opening of the St. Mary’s Team and Ministry House located adjacent to Pascal Field, our practice and game field. Located there are a state of the art training room and weight room, boys and girls locker rooms, a coaches and officials locker area as well as team meeting space and a balcony overlooking the field. This facility demonstrates St. Mary’s true commitment to excellence. It certainly is an exciting time to be a Saint! Our lacrosse programs are led by St. Mary’s alumni and former Division One lacrosse players. Coach Lilly played at Towson University and is in his eighth year at the helm of our boys program. Our programs compete in the highly competitive IAAM and MIAA A Conference, arguably the best lacrosse conferences in the country. We lookforward to seeing you and supporting our teams this season! Go Saints!

ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
2 Wyatt Cotton Midfield
Wyatt Cotton is the most athletic player on the field every time he steps inside the lines. An All-Conference running back on the football team, Wyatt is also one of the top Short Stick Defensive Midfielders in the MIAA. His ability to read his opponents hips and play fundamental on ball defense makes him an extremely tough matchup for opposing teams. Not only is he strong on the defensive side, but his ability to push the ball in transition and play on the offensive side of the ball makes him an even bigger threat. Wyatt is committed to Williams College where he will be a member of the Ephs Football Program. Our staff wishes Wyatt the best of luck in his future.
4 Justin Webber Face-Off
Justin transferred into St. Mary’s for his sophomore season. In his unique position he was unable to compete in games that year, but he made the move anyway. That decision by Justin showed his teammates just how selfless he is. There is rarely a practice or gameday where Justin is not smiling and happy to be around his teammates. On the field, Webber is one of the toughest, most physical faceoff men in the MIAA. Our staff is excited to watch Justin compete in college at UMBC and wish him continued success!
6
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
6 Caden Dudley Face-Off
Caden Dudley enters his senior campaign competing for time at the faceoff X. Caden is a member of our faceoff trio that is relentlessly working together during practices to prepare for the next opponent. He has an ability to scout opposing faceoff men and mimic their moves to have the unit prepared as best as possible on gameday. Caden has not yet decided on where he will be going after St. Mary’s. Wherever Caden decides for college, our Staff wishes him the best of luck!
7 Bobby Keane Midfield
Bobby enters his third and final season with our Varsity team. He has been named one of our Captains for this Spring. A three-year starter and offensive leader, Bobby has been a pivotal player for our program. It will be hard to replace his 100mph shot. Our staff is very excited to watch Bobby compete on the field this Spring. After graduation, Bobby will be continuing his lacrosse career at High Point University. We wish Bobby continued success at the next level!
7
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
9 Jack Callaghan Midfield
Jack Callaghan enters his senior season looking to build off his success in the Spring of 2022. Jack is a player that has made our program better each day with his work ethic on the field and in the weightroom. He was also a member of the 2021 MIAA “A” Conference JV Championship Team. Our staff wishes Jack nothing but success at the next level as he will continue his lacrosse career as a Mercer Bear!
10 Jake Kucinski Attack
Jake Kucinski is entering his second season of Varsity lacrosse for the Saints. He is a proud member of the 2021 JV MIAA “A” Conference JV Championship Team. Jake is one of those players that keeps everybody’s spirits up and has a lot of fun when he is playing. His knowledge of the game, and physical style of play makes him a player that is extremely fun to watch. We are very excited to watch Jake continue his lacrosse career at St. Bonaventure and wish him continued success!
8
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
11 Logan Sterling Midfield
Logan Sterling is a versatile two-way midfielder who enters 2023 competing for time on both sides of the ball. He is a two-sport athlete playing lacrosse and also a wide receiver for the Saints Football program who just won the MIAA Championship this past fall. Logan was also an important member of the 2021 Saints MIAA “A” Conference JV Championship team. Our staff wishes Logan continued success on the lacrosse field, as he will be moving on as a member of the Limestone Saints lacrosse program!
12 Jake Adams Attack
Jake Adams enters year number two on the Saints Varsity Team. Jake has been a key asset for us on the offensive side of the ball and the Man Up Unit. His versatility and motor on the field will be hard to replace. Jake is going on to continue his lacrosse career for the UMBC Retrievers. We are very excited to watch him excel at the next level!
9
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
13 Erik Chick Midfield
Erik is entering his third and final season on the Varsity squad for St. Mary’s. A three-year starter, his leadership and on field play has led him to be named a Captain for the 2023 campaign. His lacrosse IQ and extremely soft hands in tight spacing has made Erik an important player for our team on the offensive side of the ball. After graduation, Erik will continue his lacrosse career at Johns Hopkins University. We wish Erik the best as he continues to play at the next level!
16 Christian Schroeer Midfield
Christian enters his senior season looking to build off his successes from the prior year. He is always a threat to score when the ball is in his stick, and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team prepare and win. He is also a member of the 2021 MIAA “A” Conference JV Championship Team. As his time at St. Mary’s winds down, we wish Christian the best as he continues his lacrosse career at Belmont-Abbey!
10
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
20 Sam Palmisano Defense
Sam enters his third season on the Varsity team as a veteran leader on the defensive side of the ball. His physical strength and quick feet make him a challenging matchup for any opposing player. We wish Sam continued success as he moves on from St. Mary’s to play collegiate lacrosse for the United States Air Force Academy.
24 Nick Golini Attack
Nick Golini enters his senior campaign being named a Team Captain for the second time in his career. Nick is a four-year starter on attack and an extremely important part of the culture of our program. He is almost always covered by the #1 defender and that does not stop him from finding the back of the net. After St. Mary’s, Nick will be going on to serve and play college lacrosse at the United States Naval Academy. We wish Nick continued success on and off the field in the next chapter of his life!
11
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
30 Dylan Sharpe Long Stick Midfielder
Dylan heads into his second season on the Saints Varsity team as an important piece of the puzzle on the defense and in between the restraining lines. His scrappy play on faceoff wings and retriever like senses when the ball is on the ground will be hard to replace. Dylan was another one of the Champions from the 2021 MIAA “A” Conference JV Championship Team. As his time at St. Mary’s is nearing an end, our program wishes Dylan nothing but continued success on and off the field as he continues his lacrosse career at UMBC.
33 Shea Kennedy Goalie
After transferring back to St. Mary’s his Junior Year, Shea enters his senior season in a serious competition for starting time in the net. He has been a great teammate throughout his time with our program and we are very excited to watch Shea at the next level, as he will be continuing his lacrosse career at Hofstra!
12
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
36 Tucker Riggins Defense
Tucker is heading into the Spring 2023 season as a defender on the Varsity team for the second time. Big Fella brings the physicality and intensity to the field every time he steps on it. He is also a member of the 2021 MIAA “A” Conference JV Championship Team. Tucker will be going on to play collegiately at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Our staff wishes Tucker continued success down in sunny Florida!
40 Gavin Burlace Midfield
Gavin Burlace enters his senior season, third on Varsity, as another pivotal piece of the Saints offense as a starting midfielder. Gavin’s hard work and leadership on and off the field has also earned him the title of Team Captain. He is the fourth Burlace boy to come through and play lacrosse at St. Mary’s. While the other three were on the defensive side of the field, Gavin plays offense with the same tenacity and desire to do whatever it takes to win. Gavin’s size and athletic ability will be hard to replace. Our staff is very excited to watch Gavin continue playing in college for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish!
13
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS

66 Will Goers Midfield
Will is entering his senior season looking to compete for time on the offensive side of the ball at the attack position. Will Goers is the type of player that when he is inside the field of play, you never have to question if he is giving 100%. He is also a member of the 2021 MIAA “A” Conference JV Championship Team. We are excited to watch Will compete in college, as he will be playing at the United States Naval Academy!
14
ST. MARY’S LACROSSE 2023 VARSITY BOYS SENIORS
99 Dillon Torggler Defense
Dillon Torggler enters his senior season as a Team Captain and the anchor of our defense who will be called upon to cover the opponents’ top offensive threat each game.
