USEA Awards Booklet
A Message from our President and CEO Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the United States Energy Association’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. As President & CEO of this esteemed organization, it is an absolute honor to host you tonight and celebrate this milestone.
The United States Energy Association, founded in 1924, has been a cornerstone in fostering a collaborative and informed energy landscape. With a mission rooted in resource sharing and international energy development, USEA has been instrumental in advancing the entire energy sector. By facilitating the sharing of policy, scientific, and technological
information, USEA empowers its members and the broader energy community to make informed decisions and drive innovation. USEA’s collaboration with the U.S. Government, particularly through agencies like USAID,the U.S.Department of State, and the U.S.Department of Energy, has enabled it to make a significant impact on global energy access. Through its international projects, USEA is working tirelessly to expand access to safe, affordable, and sustainable energy, helping to improve the lives of millions around the world. I look forward to celebrating the achievements of three individuals who have demonstrated dedication and commitment to USEA’s mission: Dr. Daniel Yergin, who will receive our Centennial Lifetime Achievement Award; The Honorable Vicky Bailey, who will receive our Centennial Executive Service Award; and we will honor Barry Worthington posthumously by recognizing his contributions through the Centennial Visionary Legacy Award. In addition to these three prestigious awards, the evening will feature presentations of additional honors to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to the success of USEA over the years. Of course, we wouldn’t be here tonight if it weren’t for you, our incredible members, staff, and supporters of our mission. USEA’s membership, which includes government agencies, nonprofits, think tanks, educational institutions, and Fortune 500 companies, reflects the broad spectrum of the energy sector. You help move us forward and we are so excited to celebrate with you tonight. Sincerely, Mark W. Menezes President & CEO United States Energy Association
