IN MEMORIAM

William T. Windley, Jr. 'Bill' age 70, of North East, MD, passed away on May 3, 2017 in Dunedin, FL. He is survived by his wife, Tory, their daughter, Tory McHugh (Daniel) and 3 grandchildren, Delaney McHugh, Finnegan McHugh, and Graham McHugh. He is also survived by his mother, Elgarie M. Windley, his brother, E. Carlyle Windley (Marcia) of Seaford, DE and brother, E. Lawrence Windley of Dover, DE, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, William T. Windley. Bill was a lifelong fisherman and fisheries advocate. He served as MSSA President for many years. Bill was the founding chapter president of the Northern Bay Chapter. He was a Commissioner for the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission and served on the Maryland Sportfish Advisory Commission. He worked as a journeyman millwright for union Local 1545 out of Wilmington, DE before retiring on disability in 1992.

Bill was born in Washington, NC and loved his home state. He went to high school in Seaford, DE and then attended NC State University and still has very close friends he made while there. Avon, NC on Hatteras Island was one of his happiest places. Bill loved music. He was in several bands when younger and the last few years has enjoyed listening to recordings of those groups made long ago, especially Alamo and Harvest Band. Bill spent his last months in Dunedin, FL enjoying the fun and loving friends he made there in the past few years. A Memorial Mass was held 1PM Friday, May 12 at Saint John the Baptist Church, in Newark, DE.
